Offshore Tower/Field Technician

Job Title: Field and Tower Technician – Offshore Oil Rigs

Location: Lafayette, LA

Salary: $40k – 50k/yr  based on experience

Position Summary: 

Anistar Technologies is seeking a Tower Technician to perform maintenance/installation of wireless equipment on Offshore Oil Rigs

Responsibilities:

• Work at heights, installing telecom equipment and materials on towers and monopoles, including mounts, radios, antennas, and microwave dishes on offshore oil rigs
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve wireless communication equipment, VSAT, and microwave system problems with customers in a positive and efficient manner.
• Installing two way radio and communication equipment

• Familiarity with antennas, necessary cabling and grounding, and GPS equipment

• Electrical installation and testing

• Site maintenance such as painting, equipment maintenance, and clean-up and removal of trash

• Assisting in tower work (climbing required)

• Ensuring safety standards are met daily

• Climbs and works on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

• Climbs and works on communications towers for the purpose of installing, replacing, and repairing antenna systems equipment.
• 2+ years’ experience installing and servicing cell towers and comparable structures
• Ownership of basic telecom tools: Punch down, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, Hard Hat, Boots, Safety Glasses, etc.
• Familiarity with Climber Safety, OSHA or NEC Standards.
