Financial Controller

Job Title: Financial Controller
Location: New York, NY
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead the financial accounting function.
• Manage the general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable teams.
• Execute and deliver timely month end financial close, adhering to parent company processes and procedures.
• Prepare monthly financial statements package.
• International subsidiary consolidation
• Oversee external audits for local and international subsidiaries along with all international, federal, state, and local tax filings.
• Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions.
• Execute judgment and ensure the right decisions are reached to accurately report financial results.
• Understand internal control design concepts to assess the effectiveness of controls and design new effective processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance and/or accounting
• Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in public accounting
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in private accounting
• Experience with NetSuite and Concur
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Natural leadership skills, especially among peers
• Aptitude for team leadership—influencing and galvanizing others to follow toward a solution.
• Propensity for organization and an aptitude for information technology
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable regulations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Master’s degree in finance and/or accounting
• Prior experience in budget preparation and implementation
