Construction Supervisor and Salesman (No Slope/Low Slope Roofing)
Location: Birmingham, AL (Regional Travel)
Salary: $75k-90k/yr
Job Summary:
The Construction Supervisor and Salesman will be responsible for overseeing the construction of no slope/low slope roofing projects, ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with company standards and safety regulations. In addition to supervisory duties, this role requires active participation in sales, client relationship management, and business development efforts to drive company growth within the no slope/low slope roofing sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Supervision:
– Oversee and manage roofing projects, specifically focusing on no slope and low slope commercial roofing systems.
– Coordinate and supervise the work of subcontractors and crews to ensure quality and timeliness.
– Ensure all roofing projects comply with building codes, safety standards, and company policies.
– Conduct regular site inspections and address any issues promptly to prevent delays.
– Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
Sales and Client Relations:
– Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients to expand the company’s market share in the no slope/low slope roofing industry.
– Create and present proposals to clients, detailing project scopes, costs, and timelines.
– Negotiate contract terms with clients and vendors to secure profitable deals.
– Provide expert knowledge and advice to clients on no slope/low slope roofing systems.
– Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and to cultivate repeat business.
Business Development:
– Identify new business opportunities and lead generation within the no slope/low slope roofing market.
– Attend trade shows, networking events, and professional association meetings to promote the company’s services.
– Collaborate with the marketing team to develop materials and campaigns that target the no slope/low slope roofing sector.
– Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic planning.
Reporting and Documentation:
– Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation and client records.
– Prepare and submit regular reports on project progress, expenditures, and forecasting to management.
– Ensure all sales activities are recorded in the company's CRM system for tracking and analysis.
Qualifications:
– Proven experience in construction supervision with a focus on no slope/low slope roofing systems.
– Strong sales background with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
– Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
– Knowledge of local building codes, construction laws, and OSHA regulations.
– Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
– Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel as needed.
Education:
– A minimum of an Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
– Certifications related to roofing or construction safety are highly desirable.
Physical Requirements:
– Must be able to safely navigate construction sites and climb ladders.
– Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.
Work Environment:
– Split time between fieldwork on construction sites and office settings.
– Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, and dust.
– Standard full-time work hours with some overtime as project deadlines approach.
